Job Description

National Geographic Channels-Washington, DC -- NO RELOCATION AVAILABLE -- FULL-TIME CONTRACTOR POSITION

Join the Nat Geo Mundo network! Our growing networks are seeking a fluent Spanish-speaker to work in our On-Air Media Strategy team within the Marketing department promoting programming to raise awareness and drive ratings. Responsibilities include scheduling daily broadcast promo logs (break and in-show messaging), requesting and entering all promo elements into our various systems and executing weekly strategy. This position will also develop and implement plans that enable channel growth and strategic processing.

Key responsibilities include:
• Manage and schedule promotion on daily broadcast logs and coordinate on-air elements
• Optimize on-air promotion using the media optimization software (GripIt)
• Enter and maintain both promo and graphic requests in Operations workflow/database system (ONYX)
• Distribute traffic info for cross-channel partners
• Help execute engagement/C3 tactic by managing the on-air clocks and tracking/scheduling elements
• Enter requests for all in-show Marketing messaging (snipes, tune-in bugs, hashtags, etc.) and schedule elements daily as dictated by the media plan
• Stay continuously informed about all cross channel campaigns and priorities
• Conduct competitive research and recommend improvements to Media strategy based on competitive findings
• Find efficiencies to streamline work in order to allow more time for strategic polishing

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree minimum.
• Spanish language fluidness, both spoken and written
• Must have a highly attuned attention to detail and organization and be a highly committed and motivated worker
• 2-4 years experience in Marketing.
• Highly Analytical with Creative undertones.
• Experience with multiple departments / multiple persons.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks appropriately and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of cable industry a plus.
