Event Production AVL Tech

Our young and lean company continues to grow in the flourishing market of NWA. We hired multiple members last year but once again find ourselves in need of a Full-time AVL Tech for shows and events. Are you the next team member at avad3, Inc.? Keep reading for details and descriptions.

The best part about working for an event production company is the variety. Why not stop doing the same show every day of the week or every Sunday and be on a different show each week? Instead of being gone for months at a time on rock n roll tour, sleep in your own bed and be with your family at night.

If you’ve memorized over 100 microphone model numbers, this position is for you. If getting your hands on a brand new digital console gets you pumped, you’d fit right in. If you’re tired of playing a small role on a big crew and ready to have a huge role on a small crew, you’ve found your home. No longer will you be camera 6 and have never met who’s running camera 7, but be a key player on this department’s team of 5 making our shows rock.

No matter what your background is in, knowing audio, video, and lighting is a must. As a local production company, we’re not doing tour sized shows with micro-level responsibilities. We’re needing someone to take complete ownership of their department on a show and lead with confidence, precision, and focus. You shouldn’t be afraid of setting up projection and should be able to poke your way around on a lighting console with relative ease. This tech should feel very much at home on digital mixing consoles. We need someone who has the mind to quickly configure complex routing, but who also has the ears to make any source material sing. Our high profile shows give us plenty of time to get things dialed in just right.

We’re not mixing bands. We produce events, not concerts. On a typical show, you would be running a Behringer X32, have 6 channels of wireless, all ran through a JBL VRX line array system for a few hundred people in a convention center or ballroom.

If you’ve worked at a church and dabbled in everything, you’re going to love being here. On our team you can settle-in and master audio, video, or lighting. You will be expected to take ownership of the department and weigh-in on purchases and how we can make our shows best for our clients.

This industry is hard work, but being an avad3 team member comes with great reward. Other larger production companies work you like a dog for a low, flat rate.

Minimum 3 years production experience (pro or volunteer)

Can configure videos systems (basics of projections and video switchers)

With avad3 you will be expected to be attentive, professional, and courteous at all times. Sometimes you’ll have a short load-in and need to have the system ready to go in three hours. Other times you may sit on the 74th slide of a business powerpoint for an eternity. In either of these situations, you must be ready to act quick and with precision.
