Job Description

Graphite Films in San Francisco is looking to hire a part-time assistant editor.

A little about us: We’re an in-house production company attached to the agency Feld Direct, and we work almost exclusively on TV commercials. Over the last couple of years we’ve delivered more than 50 commercials for clients in fields ranging from the financial services, to pet products, to beauty, and tech. Our office is located in the Letterman Digital Arts Center in the Presidio.

The position requires strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere (we don’t use FCP or Avid), and experience in After Effects is a major bonus. The candidate should be organized and understand the post-production workflow but can expect a degree of training that fits our style and methodology.

General duties include:

Cutting and updating commercials
Duplicating and changing spots for distribution
Working with editors and other vendors to complete projects on time and to budget
Cataloging and archiving footage, videos and projects

The position is an entry level position, but with an opportunity for full-time employment and promotion in the future. We encourage both freelancing editors and film students with variable schedules to apply.
