Job Description

The Northwoods League is now accepting applications for the 2017 season.  The Northwoods League is the largest Summer Collegiate Baseball League in the world, playing and webcasting over 700 games from late May through mid-August. The Northwoods League Studio in Rochester MN is the center of the webcasting operation overseeing webcasts from 20 stadiums across the Midwest. The NWL Studio also produces daily Pre-Game shows along with 30 minute programs that air across the Midwest and on Fox Sports North and Fox Sports Wisconsin.

Ideal Applicant(s) - College Students who are seeking a career in the area of Sports Television Production with a special interest in Baseball. The internships run from May 15 to August 30. This is a fantastic opportunity to be directly involved with every aspect of the production process. The ideal candidate must have experience switching using a Tricaster. Experience importing and incorporating video, animated lower thirds and transitions for use in a live production is desired. You will be Directing live studio shows and assembling 30 minute programs for broadcast. You may also shoot interviews with B-roll in the field. Experience working with audio and lighting is essential in order to ensure clean, usable footage from every shoot.

This is an intense experience, you will use everything you have learned in school while learning how to work in the real world of television production. This is a unique and rare opportunity for someone with a good work ethic who has put in the hours at school and is ready for experience outside of the academic environment. This opportunity will also provide great material for your portfolio that will serve you well in pursuing your career. Interns have lodging provided at the NWL Studio location as The Show Must Go On every day. Lodging is also provided when we take the show on the road for the All Star Game, Major League Dreams Showcase, Playoff games and Championship.

Job Requirements
All applicants must have experience editing with either Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. Please provide samples of work you have done by way of a link to a Vimeo or Youtube video. Along with each video please explain exactly what you did in the creation of that video.
Experience shooting video and recording audio in the field such as interviews with supporting B roll footage and sports action.
Experience with studio production, familiarity with Cameras, Switchers, Audio Mixers, Teleprompters, Lighting etc.
Must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must be willing to learn new things and have the flexibility to wear many hats.
Must have a positive attitude, great communication skills and the ability to solve problems on the fly.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
