Job Description

I am looking for an experienced Visual Effects artist to assist with the post production on a low budget independent film entitled EXPULSION. This is a sci-fi feature staring Colton Tapp (Three Days in August) and Lar Park Lincoln (Friday The 13th Part VII). If interested I will be reviewing reels over the next 10 days prior to making a hiring choice. I prefer to pay a retainer up front that can be drawn upon as work is completed. For this reason I need a reputable and experienced professional with a track record and feedback already in place.

Open to person working remotely. Anywhere in US is fine.

What I Need: Assistance with keying out a green screen with spill from a reflective border and camera movement. More than likely we will need to lock off the green screen doorway with a mask and then track it. Various Effects to include, but not limited to; sparks, a particle collision and morphing/warping of a hole/rip in space time to fill a doorway, an actor pressing against/rippling and waking through the space time doorway, glowing hands, muzzle flashes, dust clouds from bullet strikes, bullet strike to chest, computer screen replacement and tracking with GUI, and an iPad screen tracking and replacement with pre-made video playing. There are other smaller cosmetic effects that can be discussed and collaborated on after hire.

Anticipated Workflow: I will submit/mail an Apple/Windows compatible USB 3.0 hard drive with picture locked raw 4K (4000 x 2160) maximum bit rendered TIFF image sequences @ 24fps. The freelance artist will then perform the effects and re-export/re-render that portion of the TIFF sequence with the effect and return the raw max bit depth TIFF sequences to me. However, previews for feedback can be created in any compression/format that is required by the respective streaming website (i.e. Youtube, Vimeo). Uploaded clips will be password protected and I can provide access to my Vimeo account if hired and needed. Any VFX software can be used because the TIFF sequence will be delivered as a maximum bit depth export and imported back into Adobe Premiere Pro CC as such.

Green screen mattes/background will be submitted as a high bitrate H.264 file and a steel door (or grate) background will need to be created for shots of the door when it is closed. Final sequences to be delivered at 4K resolution 4000 x 2160 @ 24fps, raw (max bit depth) TIFF image sequence.

There will be temporary and scratch sound only as the final sound mix has not yet been completed. Effects sounds are welcomed but not required.

Film Synopsis: Scott and Vincent are top recruits at the prestigious Cicero Market Technologies Corporation where they are tasked with the development and implementation of cutting edge technologies. The sole purpose of their work is to bring about medical, environmental and physics advancements. However, beaten by their own curiosity, the pair begin to sneak their work home with them. They push the boundaries of particle collision science to undiscovered levels stumbling upon a parallel universe complete with an alternate version of Scott. As their days and nights unfold they begin to discover that others seek their tech to advance their own agendas. Agendas that they intend to fulfill at any cost.
