Moonee, a precocious 5-year-old, lives with her young mom in a low-cost, extended stay motel on Rt. 192 in Kissimmee, FL. Currently there are four thousand homeless children growing up in motels along the stripmall-lined arterial leading directly to the gates of the world's largest theme park in Orlando, a mere mile away. These children are homeless because their families have no permanent residence. After having fallen on hard times, these are families that must resort to week-to-week residence in what were once tourist motels. If that wasn't bad enough, some of these motels have crime and addiction problems.
